In 1989, Habitat Cabarrus was recognized as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. In the past 16 years this affiliate has been able to help 89 families build and purchase their own home. These 89 families, who previously rented and lived in substandard housing, are now purchasing their own comfortable homes through no-interest mortgages.
