WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT SAINT JAMES CHURCH
SUNDAY
10:00 a.m. Choral Eucharist, Nave (Childcare available)
The 10:00 a.m. Choral Eucharist is a traditional sung liturgy in the Nave beginning with a procession including music by the Parish Choir and accompanied by the organ. The worship service has a formality and grandeur that draws inspiration from the finest historical and traditional liturgies. During the liturgy, we pray and sing together, we listen to a sermon that calls us to live our faith, we greet each other as we “pass the peace,” then all Baptized Christians are welcome to receive the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist. The Eucharist is offered at every service and is distributed by the intinction method. Children will have an opportunity for a children's lesson.
WEDNESDAY
12:05 p.m. Midday Prayer Service, Chapel
The Midday Prayer Service is a simple service with readings from the authors, hymns, scripture, and a brief meditation. Reflect on the Cross with five saints of the church: C.S. Lewis, Francis of Assisi, Dietrich Bonheoffer, Julian of Norwich, Mother Theresa.
6:20 p.m. Healing Service, Chapel
The Service of the Word for Healing is a thirty-minute service that invites worshipers to come prayerfully before the “Healer of our every ill.” Beginning with Taize musical refrains, it continues with readings, periods of silence, and concludes with prayer for healing, anointing with oil and laying on of hands for those who desire it.
